Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information Backit collects, why, and the choices you have. By using the website you agree to it.
Information we collect
- Account details — name, email address and profile information (username, bio, links, avatar) when you sign up as a creator, including via Google sign-in.
- Supporter details — the name or message a supporter chooses to provide, and an email address if given, when making a payment.
- Payout and verification details — for creators who withdraw: legal name, CNIC details and bank account details (IBAN, account title). Sensitive identifiers are stored in masked or protected form.
- Technical data — device and browser information, and page-view analytics using a daily-rotating salted hash. We do not store raw IP addresses for analytics.
Card and payment data
Card payments are collected and processed by our payment partner, Safepay, on its hosted checkout page. We never see or store full card numbers, expiry dates or CVV codes. We receive only the payment status, amount and a reference.
How we use information
- to provide creator pages, process support payments and record earnings;
- to verify identity, prevent fraud and comply with legal obligations;
- to pay creators their earnings and send service emails such as receipts and payout notices;
- to maintain, secure and improve the service.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers needed to run the service (payment processing, email delivery, hosting), with creators (the supporter details a supporter chose to provide), and with authorities where the law requires.
Retention and security
We keep records for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet financial, tax and legal requirements. Data is transmitted over HTTPS and access is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to secure the service.
Your choices
You may request access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information, subject to records we must keep by law. To do so, contact us.
